Well woman check

Mr Kunde provides comprehensive advice about sexual and reproductive health including advice about contraception. The well woman check includes general and pelvic examination and tests such as cervical smear test and pelvic ultrasound scan when indicated.

Mr Kunde provides advice and treatment for a range of gynaecological conditions. He is available to consult at the Shard three times a week but also sees patients for urgent consultations throughout the week.

The Well Woman Check with Mr Kunde uses examinations and tests as required and can be a starting point in dealing with many issues including those listed below.

Fibroids

Mr Kunde has a particular interest in the management of fibroids and has introduced laparoscopic myomectomy (keyhole surgery to remove fibroids from the womb) at St Thomas’ Hospital. He also performs this operation at London Bridge Hospital where a brand-new theatre suite has been opened to carry out laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery.

Endometriosis

Mr Kunde specialises in the treatment of endometriosis and runs a dedicated clinic for patients suffering from endometriosis. Mr Kunde has successfully treated many patients with pelvic endometriosis.

Fertility

Mr Kunde has undergone training in fertility treatments including IVF and provides fertility investigations and treatments to couples. He has undergone special training in keyhole surgery procedures which enhance fertility potential in women who have difficulty in getting pregnant.

Abnormal Cervical Smears and Colposcopy

Mr Kunde is a member of the British Society of Colposcopy and offers advice, investigations and treatments to women with an Abnormal cervical smear and Colposcopy.

Heavy Menstrual Periods

Heavy periods is a common problem that women may experience during their reproductive years. Mr Kunde offers a one stop clinic for the diagnosis of the underlying cause of heavy periods so that more serious conditions can be excluded immediately. Majority of the patients can be treated with medications but some patients need surgery.

Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

There are some gynaecological conditions which are best treated by a hysterectomy when medical treatment fails or when medical treatment is not suitable. Most of the hysterectomies can now be done using keyhole surgery which has many advantages. Mr Kunde has the expertise to perform hysterectomies by keyhole technique which has benefited hundreds of women in his NHS as well as private practice. He performs both Total and Subtotal laparoscopic hysterectomies.

Ovarian Cysts

Majority of the ovarian cysts are harmless and some resolve spontaneously. Mr Kunde performs a careful assessment of the nature of the cyst by ultrasound scan and blood tests before deciding about the type of treatment. Some cysts can be managed without any surgery and the size can be monitored by periodic ultrasound scans. When surgery is required, majority of the ovarian cysts can be removed by laparoscopic surgery.
